Growing and developing the CanadaNeuro Digital Brain Bank (CNDBB) is our primary research goal. In doing so we aim to support and contribute to all facets of brain based disorders and digital brain technology. National spending for managing brain based disorders is rising yearly. Our initiatives will help to significantly combat this.
Healthcare algorithms can aid doctors and scientists in diagnostics and prognostics. They are also useful in modelling and interpreting diseases. A key example of this is IBMs Watson. The CDNBB will enable similar solutions for brain based disorders.
Artificial intelligence and machine learning are going to be responsible for the worlds most rapid and important technological revolutions. However, these solutions require a massive amount of data. The CNDBB will provide this data.
Brain Computer Interface technology involves connecting the brain to a computer with sensors enabling a bi-directional feedback model. This can all be done non-invasively with EEG. Through symbiosis with the computer you can regain lost faculties.
Big data approaches rely on the massive parallel processing of millions of data points from multi-dimensional constructs in order to elucidate patterns not observable in smaller samples. The vastness of CNDBB will make this possible.
Individual brain scans enable individualized brain treatments. Evidence of the patient's functional brain states can be used to inform proper brain modulation protocols tailored to the individual. This can optimize ill or healthy brains.
You may be aware that different diseases have different sub-types or variations. Biomarkers and phenotypes are physiological signatures of that can be used to differentiate between variations in disease sub-types. CNDBB will enable this.
